摘要
BESSY, a national Synchrotron Radiation Facility dedicated to research in the VUV and soft X-ray region is presently under construction in Berlin (West). In order to meet the requirements of users working in different fields a lattice with a high flexibility has been chosen. Six different optics have been worked out. With the optic ″small emittance″ beam dimensions in the bending magnets of sigma //x equals 0. 08 mm and sigma //y equals 0. 08 mm are attainable. With the optic ″small-bunch-length″ bunch lengths greater than 3 ps can be reached in the case I approaches 0. The optic ″large emittance″ allows a high current I to be stored and provides a large acceptance for sweeping the beam. The properties of this optic are suitable for use in X-ray lithography.
