摘要：

The impact of climatic conditions and socio-economic status on solid waste characteristics at Agra city during 1989-90 is discussed. The city was divided, occupation-wise, into residential, commercial and industrial areas following the 'Stratified Random Sampling Technique'. Four hundred and fifty samples were analysed to compare the average values of various physical and chemical properties of solid wastes produced by different sub-groups in different seasons. The paper concludes with recommendations and suggestions for a better management of Agra city refuse.
