WAVELENGTH DIVISION MULTIPLEXING WITH SOLITONS IN ULTRA-LONG DISTANCE TRANSMISSION USING LUMPED AMPLIFIERS

摘要
For a system using a chain of lumped amplifiers, we show that adjacent WDM channel solitons interact just as in a lossless fiber, as long as the collision length is two or more times the amplifier spacing. This result implies the potential for multichannel WDM at Gb/s rates over transoceanic distances.
