The composition induced metal (x < 0.7) to antiferromagnetic insulator transition in LaxSr1-xVO3 is reminiscent of the phase diagrams of the high T(c) cuprates such as La2-xSrxCuO4. Herein, we present an analysis of our susceptibility and V-51 NMR data in LaxSr1-xVO3 for the metallic compositions. The data are indicative of a strongly exchange enhanced narrow d-band metal. No evidence was found for antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations, in strong contrast to the metallic cuprates, which show clear evidence for these fluctuations for compositions in the vicinity of the metal-insulator transition. No evidence for superconductivity in our materials was found.
