THE TRANSFER-COEFFICIENT IN PROTON-TRANSFER REACTIONS

摘要
The temperature dependence of the transfer coefficient observed in proton transfer reactions is discussed. In contrast to electron transfer reactions, the electric field is expected to have a major effect on the potential energy surfaces of the system. This idea is incorporated into the quantum theory of electrochemical proton transfer reactions, and shown to give rise to temperature dependent transfer coefficients. © 1990.
