A SIMPLIFIED METHOD OF MEASURING DIAMETER OF ANTERIOR SEGMENT OF EYE

摘要：

A difference in diameter as small as 0.5 mm between the cornea of an ocular prosthesis and that of the natural eye causes an unacceptable cosmetic defect. The difficulties in measuring corneal diameter accurately by existing methods indicated the need for a simpler measuring device. Major problems included alignment of the measuring devices and the eye reflexes. These problems were overcome by use of a narrow, transparent plastic strip containing holes varying from 10 to 13 mm in diameter in 0.5-mm increments. The device is held before the eye for comparison. © 1969.
