PROTEIN SYNTHESIS DURING ILYANASSA EMBRYOGENESIS

The amino acid content of the acid soluble pool, the uptake and the incorporation of 14C-leucine into protein was measured throughout the development of the Ilyanassa embryo. In early cleavage there was a low rate of protein synthesis that increased during gastrulation, reached a maximal level during the period of organ formation and declined during the later stages of morphogenesis. © 1969.
