摘要
The potential of metallic glass hydrides as rechargeable battery electrodes has been investigated. Data on a series of rechargeable batteries constructed using a conventional nickel hydroxide electrode together with an amorphous Ni-Zr electrode in an alkaline solution are presented. Using a novel charging procedure, the batteries exhibit a cycling performance that is comparable with conventional Ni-Cd cells and expected lifetimes that exceed those of crystalline hydride cells. The Ni-Zr electrodes contain no catalytic agent and may be used directly as cast by melt spinning.
