BAND-STRUCTURE OF COUPLED JOSEPHSON-JUNCTIONS IN THE PRESENCE OF A VORTEX

摘要
We study the influence of an imposed vortex on the macroscopic quantum properties of a ring-shaped array of low-capacitance Josephson junctions. The symmetry associated with the vortex position modifies the band structure. The lowest band becomes parabolic with a curvature reflecting the vortex mass, and the lowest band gaps vanish. Correspondingly the fundamental frequency of the Bloch oscillation is reduced. © 1990, Elsevier Science Publishers B.V. (North-Holland). All rights reserved.
