摘要
The removal of paraffin wax by capillary flow from ceramic mouldings consisting of a coarse and a fine alumina powder was studied. Several ceramic powders were selected for the powder bed and, as expected, the maximum extraction occurred when a coarse ceramic body was combined with a fine powder. In general, only 15-30% of the available pore space in the powder was used for extraction. Permeability estimates suggest that flow in the powder bed controls the rate of extraction when the surrounding powder is significantly finer than that of the body.
