摘要
The paper analyzes the role of monitoring in the manufacturing process, gives a critical review of the techniques currently used and summarizes where artificial intelligence can be used. It points out that these techniques are needed because our knowledge about the physics of the cutting process is not sufficient to build suitable failure models needed for the fault detection process. © 1990.
