SELF-INDUCED PRESSURE SHIFTS IN THE 9.4-MU-M AND 10.4-MU-M BANDS OF CO2 BY FOURIER-TRANSFORM SPECTROSCOPY

Self-induced pressure shift measurements in the 9.4- and 10.4-μm bands of CO2 made by using a Fourier transform spectrometer are reported. About 40 transitions in each band have been measured at four different pressures. The shifts are negative and show no evidence of J dependence. The average pressure shift coefficients for the two bands are equal to about -4.8 × 10-6 cm-1/Torr (144 kHz/Torr) in the range from 3 to 100 Torr, assuming the shift to be linear with pressure. © 1991.
