CONTOUR TRACKING AND CORNER DETECTION IN A LOGIC PROGRAMMING ENVIRONMENT

The importance of shape information in object recognition has led to the emergence of numerous algorithms for contour tracing and corner identification. A common characteristic of these implementations is a parameter selection process. We present an integrated logic programming environment which provides a variety of image process operations. The capability of parameter selection through backtracking and unification is described. Extensions to the existing implementation with respect to higher level image understanding are discussed. © 1990, IEEE.
