摘要
This paper presents the formulae for the coefficients of the third-order spherical aberration of quadrupole lens system. Conditions for the correction of spherical aberration of different quadrupole and round lens systems by means of octopoles have been obtained. A new type of electrostatic quadrupole-octopole lens is suggested. The experimental results are in good agreement with the calculated ones. © 1969.
