摘要
The purpose of this communication is to examine whether growing cells of K. pneumoniae with different, but growth-limiting amounts of substrate (glucose) and various preset values of dissolved oxygen tension produce a variety of metabolites in addition to acetate, and whether multiple changes in respiration rates were caused by these metabolites, as was found in resting bacteria. The resulting changes of the kinetics of the batch growth were investigated by multiparametric measurements of gas exchange, dissolved oxygen tension, pH, extracellular metabolites, and carbon balance at all stages of growth.
