摘要
All too often in the aftermath of a technically successful reoperation for persistent or recurrent hyperparathyroidism the patient has permanent hypoparathyrodism. The reason is that the normal glands were removed at the first operation, and excision of the missed adenoma eliminates the last functioning source of hormone. Autotransplantation of a portion of tumor circumvents the otherwise inevitable permanent hypoparathyroidism.
