摘要
A general model for the adsorption process of weak organic electrolytes from aqueous dilute solutions on activated carbons is studied. The approach takes into consideration several factors exerting significant effect on adsorption equilibrium, such as adsorbent energetic heterogeneity, surface charge established by solution pH and ionic strength, and lateral interactions in adsorbed phase. The considerations are illustrated by new experimental data for adsorption of benzoic and salicyclic acids over the wide range of pH and concentration.
