摘要
The optical properties of ammonium fluoberyllate in the incommensurate phase, namely birefringent and electrooptical ones, are discussed within the framework of a thermodynamic theory. The analysis of experimental results show that the incommensurate‐commensurate phase transition in AFB is nearly of second order. The soft‐mode and electrooptic contributions to the spontaneous birefringence are found to be small in comparison with the elastooptic one. Copyright © 1979 WILEY‐VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA
