FLUX CREEP AND PEAK EFFECT IN BI2SR2CACU2OX SINGLE-CRYSTALS UNDER A TRANSPORT CURRENT ALONG THE C-AXIS

The resistive transition and critical currents along the c-axis I(c perpendicular-to) in single crystals of Bi2Sr2CaCu2Ox are studied at magnetic fields H less-than-or-equal-to 14 T. The results differ qualitatively from those obtained for the case I parallel-to ab-plane. For example, a large peak-effect I(c perpendicular-to) (H) was observed at any orientation of H. We explain the obtained results relating them with the motion of coreless magnetic vortices in the case I perpendicular-to c and H parallel-to ab-plane.
