摘要：

Geometric volume, a new index, has been proposed for correlating boiling point, melting point, density and refractive index of 43 halomethanes. The index is a simple and straightforward approximation of the unit molecular volume in space. The index has been found to work well for other molecular properties and for other class of molecules as well.
