X-RAY SPECTRUM FROM A 2 MVP ALTERNATING POTENTIAL GENERATOR

摘要：

The x-ray spectrum from a 2 Mvp resonant transformer generator was determined by the method of attenuation analysis. Spectra are presented without an added filter and for an added filter of 5 mm lead. The experimental spectrum is compared with spectra produced by constant potential generators at 1.4 and 2.0 Mv and measured by different means. The experimental spectrum is also compared with the Kulenkampff-Kramers model for thick target bremsstrahlung from monoenergetic electron beams, and is seen to resemble closely that predicted by the model for a constant potential generator excited at 1.8 Mv.
