CLINICAL ASPECTS OF GASTROINTESTINAL HORMONES SECRETIN AND CHOLECYSTOKININ

With the recent availability of pure secretin the interest in the secretin test, as introduced by Lagerlöf in the 1930s, has been revived, this time preferably in combination with a cholecystokinin-pancreozymin test. The multiple actions of cholecystokinin-pancreozymin both on the gall bladder, on the sphincter of Oddi, and on the intestinal motility have been used by a number of authors for the improvement of the routine procedures in cholecystography, cholangiography, and the X-ray examination of the intestine. © 1969 Informa UK Ltd.
