DETERMINATION OF THE DURATION OF OVULATION IN GILTS BY MEANS OF LAPAROSCOPY

The process of ovulation has been observed by means of laparoscopy in five gilts after synchronization of estrus and ovulation at the interval of 34–35, 36–37, 39–40, 42–43 and 45–46 h after HCG. The first ovulations were investigated in one gilt already 35 h, in the other gilts 37–39 h after HCG. The duration of ovulations ranged in these gilts from 6 to more than 9 h. The used neuroleptanalgesia and the laparoscopic technique are well suitable for long time investigations studying the dynamics of follicular growth and ovulation. Der Ovulationsverlauf wurde mittels Laparoskopie bei fünf brunst‐ und ovulations‐synchronisierten Jungsauen im Zeitintervall 34–35, 36–37, 39–40, 42–43 und 45–46 Stunden nach HCG beobachtet. Die ersten Ovulationen wurden bei einer Jungsau bereits 35 h, bei den anderen 37–39 h nach HCG ermittelt. Die Ovulationsdauer variierte bei den Jungsauen von 6 bis mehr als 9 h. Die eingesetzte Neuroleptanalgesie und die Laparoskopietechnik sind gut geeignet, Langzeituntersuchungen zur Dynamik des Follikelwachstums und der Ovulation durchzuführen.
