LOW-PRESSURE OXIDATION OF THE NI3AL ALLOY - A STRUCTURAL STUDY BY SURFACE EXTENDED ENERGY-LOSS FINE-STRUCTURE

摘要
The structure of the oxide layer formed by low pressure oxidation of Ni3Al was studied by surface extended energy loss fine structure. The analysis permitted us to determine the oxygen-aluminum interatomic distance in the aluminum oxide overlayer. The value obtained is compatible with the formation of Al2O3 and confirms the data on this system obtained by other surface sensitive techniques.
