S35 (Na2S35O4) was given to rats made lathyritic by feeding fl-aminopropionitrile and to an equal number of control animals fed a normal diet. Pairs of animals from each diet group were sacrificed at intervals following the injection. Tissue sections of the aortic media, xiphoid process, and muscular diaphragm were prepared for histology and radioautographs. Grain counts were performed on these sections with an eyepiece micrometer. A significantly greater uptake of isotope in the media of the lathyritic aorta than in the control was demonstrated. © 1968, SAGE Publications. All rights reserved.
