摘要
Field observations on 117 tree shrews (Tupaia glis) were made in Singapore. While there was little home range overlap between adult residents of the same sex, there was complete range overlap between those of the different sexes. The latter fell within two basic patterns: (1) Pair; one adult male's range almost completely overlapped with only one adult female's range. (2) Harem; one adult male's range almost completely overlapped with two or more female ranges. The number of females in the harem was proportional to the size of the adult male range. In terms of territorial chases, adult males chased males and adult females chased females. Scent marking mainly by adult males was observed both inside and outside territories. © 1979.
