In the reported experiments, polarized Raman intensities have been obtained from thin films of uniaxially oriented atactic polystyrene. The study was made using the 623 cm** minus **1 radial skeletal eta //6//b vibration of the benzene ring. Values of the fourth-order as well as second-order terms in the expansion of the orientation distribution were obtained for draw ratios between 1. 5 and 7. 7. Values for P//2(cos theta ) agree well with the values obtained from infrared dichroism.
