The clinical, biochemical and pathological features of 2 patients with hypothyroid myopathy are described. Some new observations have been made. These include: 1. (1) grossly elevated levels of serum creatine kinase and aldolase in 1 case; 2. (2) the finding of a vacuolar myopathy in muscle biopsy sections; 3. (3) evidence of segmental denervation in a peripheral nerve biopsy from the same case. The significance of these observations is discussed in the light of the previous literature. © 1969.
