LASER-RAMAN SPECTRUM OF POLYVINYLIDENE CHLORIDE

The laser-Raman spectrum of powdered polyvinylidene chloride is reported. The spectrum is compared with the infrared data in the literature and the combined results are assigned to fundamental modes on the basis of the Miyazawa (distorted planar zig-zag) structure. The assignments previously put forward have been revised, extended and generally put on a firmer footing. © 1969.
