摘要
Waves in the foreshock of Saturn have been studied using data from the plasma and magnetic field experiments onboard Voyager 1. The appearance of the waves, in the plasma as well as in the magnetic field data, is related to magnetic connection of the spacecraft to the bow shock. Their relative amplitude DELTA-B/B lies between 0.3 and 0.8 and their period in the spacecraft frame is approximately 500 s. The waves are elliptically polarized and propagate at approximately 30-degrees to the average magnetic field direction.
