摘要
Softening is the safest mean to remove the problems caused by the hardness of water in desalination proceeding of brackish water and sea water or even in preparing a water of little mineral containment. Our studies show the profit of separating the electrochemical curing unit by catonic membrane instead of anionic membrane where the removal of hardness happens in anodic chamber by making the Ca2+ ions to emigrate from this chamber to the cathodic one, and also the profit of applying high voltage current by using electrods relatively with small surfaces where big portion of oH ions formed near the cathode and after that the ions g CO32- formed within the solution because the OH ions neutralize the HCO3- ions which exist in water. The formation of CO32- within the solution reduces the formation of CO32- on the cathode and that keeps the curing unit in work continuously. The electrochemical remove of water hardness has the advantage of needing no chemical additives and it did not change the removed Ca2+ ions with another.
