摘要
The decomposition reactions of formic acid and adsorbod formate ion on zinc oxide have separately been studied. In these two reactions their products composition differs and detailed reaction mechanisms are proposed for both reactions. Upon adsorption of formic acid on zinc oxide, a large amount of water is produced and by using 18O enriched formic acid its production is shown to originate in the neutralization reaction between formic acid and zinc oxide. © 1969, Walter de Gruyter.
