The authors address the question of definitions in the evolving field or interorganizational systems and summarize some illustrative case studies. They examine the impact of EDI systems on suppliers and buyers and identify the critical factors that determine winners and losers in this area. They explore strategies for EDI pilot implementation and summarize the conclusions. © 1990.
