INVESTIGATION OF BRACHIAL-PLEXUS TRACTION LESIONS BY PERIPHERAL AND SPINAL SOMATOSENSORY EVOKED-POTENTIALS

Peripheral, spinal and cortical somatosensory evoked potentials were recorded in 26 patients with unilateral traction injuries of the brachial plexus, to estimate the degree of involvement distal and proximal to the dorsal root ganglia. Of 10 cases explored surgically, the recordings correctly anticipated the major site of the lesion in eight.
