OBSERVATION OF NONLINEAR FARADAY PROCESSES IN CDMNTE DILUTED MAGNETIC SEMICONDUCTORS

摘要
Nonlinear Faraday processes occurring at high laser intensities are experimentally demonstrated in a Cd0.75Mno.25Te alloy. Both the polarization direction and phase of the incident beam are modified through the nonlinear interaction. The large nonlinear susceptibilities measured for the material show that nonlinear Faraday processes are expected to overcome two-photon absorption and Kerr effects for magnetic field of the order of few Tesla.
