ISOLATION AND IDENTIFICATION OF 25-HYDROXYERGOCALCIFERO

摘要
A polar metabolite of vitamin D2 (314 μg) has been isolated in pure form from the blood of four pigs given 500,000 IU of ergocalciferol day for 26 days. It has been identified as 25-hydroxyergocalciferol by means of ultraviolet spectra, gas-liquid partition chromatography, nuclear magnetic resonance spectra, mass spectra, and mass spectra of its trimethylsilyl ether derivative. It is about 1.5 times more active than vitamin D3 or D2 in curing rickets in rats. © 1969, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
