摘要
Our knowledge of plant biology has been greatly enhanced by the isolation of genes which control aspects of plant development and biochemistry. An insertional mutagenesis method called transposon tagging has been used to isolate several of these genes from maize and snapdragon. Maize transposons are being used to extend this technique to a wider range of plant species. This promises further advances in our understanding of plant biology.
