摘要
In this paper we study the structural phase transition on W(100) through Monte Carlo simulations of two-dimensional model Hamiltonians. Our results confirm that the transition is of an order-disorder nature. The anisotropy of line shapes found in a recent x-ray study is explained in terms of the intrinsic difference between longitudinal and transverse susceptibilities. Finally, the critical properties of the models are examined and compared with the experimental peak-intensity data. © 1990 The American Physical Society.
