摘要
The interfacial instability caused by viscosity stratification of a density-matched two-layer, rotating Couette flow is examined close to criticality. Weakly nonlinear analysis of the full governing equations indicates that the instability is supercritical, and measurements of amplitudes for steady, traveling periodic waves agree well with the theoretical predictions. © 1995 The American Physical Society.
