HIGH FREQUENCY EXCITATION OF INDEPENDENTLY VAPORIZED SAMPLES IN EMISSION SPECTROMETRY

摘要
The construction of the discharge chamber is described. The sample is evaporated from a graphite disk, which is heated by ohmic current. The vaporized sample is excited in an electrodeless discharge (40 MHz, 200 W), burning above the disk in argon at atmospheric pressure. The influence of various parameters was investigated. The limits of detection are compared with those published for the high current argon arc. The limits of detection might be substantially improved using a more appropriate monochromator and detection system. © 1969, American Chemical Society. All rights reserved.
