MODELING THE MECHANICAL-BEHAVIOR OF 1100-0 ALUMINUM AT DIFFERENT STRAIN RATES BY THE BODNER-PARTOM MODEL

摘要
In this paper, the isotropic hardening version of S.R. Bodner and Y. Partom's 1975 viscoplasticity model is used to describe the mechanical behavior of 1100-0 aluminum at large finite plastic strain and within a very large strain rate range, epsilon = 10(-5)-10(4) s-1. The material constants contained in the model are determined using the experimental data obtained by using Direct Disc Impact technique (HUANG & KHAN [1991]) and NITS system. The predictions of strain rate sensitivity and work-hardening behavior of Bodner-Partom's model are then compared with the experimental data to show the capability and the deficiency of the model. Some constructive discussions are also included in this paper.
