摘要
Preparational studies of streamer tubes for the air shower experiment KASCADE, motivated the investigation of some features of the self-quenching streamer (SQS) mode for various argon-isobutane gas settings and operation voltages with respect to its behaviour in and beyond the plateau region and increasing light yield. We employed a pulse shape analyzing technique and the spectroscopy of the light escaping from the SQS mode in the 370 to 500 nm wavelength region.
