Concentration-gradient elution from an anion exchange resin (Dowex 1X8) was studied by eluting a mixture of Cu(II) and Co(II) with HCl. The variables examined were HCl gradient, column length, column loading, flow rate, and resin size. The elution characteristics of Ni(II), La(III), Lu(III), Hf(IV), Zr(IV), Ge(IV), Ga(III), Fe(III), U(VI), Mo(VI), Pu(IV), Np(IV), and Pa(V) were compared to those of Co(II) and Cu(II). © 1978, Oxford University Press.
