摘要
Stimulated Raman emission of high conversion efficiency was observed in a traveling-wave system. Using laser pulses of shorter duration than the lifetime of the acoustic phonons, stimulated Brillouin scattering could be eliminated as a competing nonlinear process. Good quantitative agreement was found between existing theory (which was extended to real light beams) and experimental observations. © 1969 The American Physical Society.
