摘要
The accurate assessment of ischemic pathophysiology and the evaluation of its treatment require the use of reliable models of ischemia. A variety of these are now available. Limiting ourselves to the rat models, we can distinguish two broad categories, global models and focal models of cerebral ischemia. We summarize the characteristics of representative models, and discuss their advantages and disadvantages.
