摘要：

The development of Chinese psychology is outlined according to various historical periods. Emphasis is laid on the philosophical basis of Chinese psychological thought and how social changes affect the development of psychology. The development of psychology after the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949 is described in relation to the political and social changes in the country. China's present national policy of economic construction, reform, and openness to the outside world has had a great impact on the advancement of psychology.
