TRACING GROUNDWATER WITH CHLORIDE IONS AND TRITIUM THROUGH ACID KAOLINITIC SOIL

摘要
Chloride ions and tritium were compared as groundwater tracers for acid soils containing kaolinitic clays in laboratory and field tests. The breakthrough for chloride was retarded more than that for tritium, which indicated that chloride ions interacted with the acid soils. Thus chloride and other negatively charged ions have limited usefulness as water tracers in acid soils. © 1968.
