PRESSURE-COMPOSITION ISOTHERMS OF HYDROGEN IN AMORPHOUS PD(1-X)SIX

摘要
The solubility of hydrogen in various amorphous Pd//(//1// minus //x//)Si//x alloys (x equals 0. 15-0. 22) has been determined by cathodic charging or by doping with gaseous hydrogen at high pressures up to 2 GPa, where changes of the e. m. f. or resistivity have been measured. In a few cases samples were analyzed by mass spectrometry. The data are compared with results published in the literature. In this way results are compiled over a range of 18 orders of magnitude in fugacity. Even at high concentrations no plateau has been observed in the pressure composition isotherms for all Pd-Si alloys. There are also no indications of a critical temperature around 200-250 K as proposed theoretically.
