SOME SOFTWARE ALGORITHMS FOR MICROPROCESSOR RATEMETERS

摘要
After a review of the basic theoretical ratemeter problem and a general discussion of microprocessor ratemeters, a short insight into their hardware organization is given. Three software algorithms are described: the old ones, the quasi-exponential and floating mean algorithm, and a new weighted moving average algorithm. The equations for statistical characterization of the new algorithm are given and an intercomparison is made. It is concluded that the new algorithm has statistical advantages over the old ones.
