GEOMETRIC SHAPES WITH G-BOSONS IN THE INTERACTING BOSON MODEL

Geometric aspects of the extended interacting boson model (gIBM) with s, d and g bosons are studied using coherent states. Algebraic expressions for the coherent state expectation values of various terms in the general gIBM Hamiltonian are derived in terms of the quadrupole and hexadecupole deformation variables β2 and β4 and the asymmetry angle γ. These in turn are used to determine the equilibrium shape parameters (β20, β40, γ0) in the seven dynamical symmetry limits of gIBM. © 1990 Springer-Verlag.
